Commercial Analyst
We are looking for someone to join our team as a commercial analyst to help bring key commercial insights to our HQ team as well as our franchise network
Who we are
Launched in 2013, Hotpod Yoga is Europe’s largest yoga business. Having grown to 50+ locations (across the UK and a handful of international markets) and built an audience of over 400,000 customers, the business is well-established, a clear market leader but still full of ambition and potential. Covid brought the greatest challenge a multi-site operator could imagine, but we weathered it well, recovered strongly and are trading beyond pre-Covid levels.
As a brand we believe that yoga has an unrivaled power to make people feel great. So we created Hotpod Yoga to take yoga to more people and places than ever before – taking it out of the niche it inhabits in so much of the world and into the lives of millions of people previously untouched by, or uninterested in yoga. Chiefly, we do this through two key things:
1) The unique Hotpod Yoga experience – a distinctly modern take on an ancient practice, HPY is an immersive experience that turns up the dials on a typical yoga class – introducing heat, scent, music and atmospheric lighting. This unique take, underpinned by patented innovation, both draws in new audiences of yoga practitioners and unifies the network of studios around one powerful, differentiated consumer proposition.
2) An empowered franchise network – the HPY franchising model is designed to transform yoga instructors into studio owners; trained and supported by Hotpod HQ, delivering consistent, proven best practice within an innovative, efficient and effective business ecosystem. The studios all have a local feel and a personal touch but are at the same time distinctly Hotpod.
Why work for us
To put it simply, it’s a pretty great feeling to work with a group of people who all genuinely love what they do and are motivated about creating a positive impact while building a brilliant business. It’s a fast-paced environment (we know everyone says that, but we actually mean it) that embraces change and innovation, is unashamedly ambitious but also fosters a genuinely supportive, positive culture through every aspect of the business.
We’re a B Corp – a proud achievement that means a lot to us, our franchisees and our team – and we’re firm believers that the best way to build a highly successful commercial business is by building one that is good to its core. We want to build a business where customers are happy, satisfied and even transformed and where we have a positive impact on society and as minimal a negative impact as possible on the environment. We want to help build a big network of successful, happy studio owners, supported by a team at HQ that’s valued and nurtured.
While we’re 11 years in, there’s still so much to come from us as a business and joining now is an opportunity to have a massive impact on an already exciting journey and to be a part of something that we have every confidence will become a leading global leisure brand.
The role in a nutshell
This role has two main elements to it: 1) providing key insights and analysis on our performance 2) owning our reporting dashboards and managing their continuous improvement:
1) Performance analysis and insight:
We are a data rich company, with detailed transactional data from across our franchise network at our fingertips. Your role in understanding that data is two-fold:
a) Owning the reporting of commercial performance across the business on a day to day basis: You will be responsible for the day to day analysis of company performance, looking at headline performance and analysing the underlying trends and drivers within that performance
b) Building best practice guidance to support decision making and inform future strategy: extract, process and analyse the information from all of our data sources, and translate this into clear and actionable best practice insights. The insights that you provide will be used by multiple teams across the business
You will be a key cross functional player helping both our HQ team and our franchise network to make data driven decisions across a range of areas from marketing to commercials to operation.
2) Dashboard reporting and continuous improvement:
We have a suite of dashboards that we use to help us deliver commercial insights to the business. In this role you would be responsible for owning the existing dashboards, collating regular feedback from the team and managing the upkeep of these tools via our third party Tableau developers. We want this role to take the lead on the continual evolution of our reporting suite to ensure it is meeting the needs of the business and providing all of the insights we require
Key focuses and responsibilities include:
Day to day management of reporting tools:
– Ensuring all data processing has been completed on time, and that the tools are working effectively
– Responsible for gathering feedback from stakeholders across the business and owning the prioritisation of changes
KPI insights and reporting:
– You will keep a critical eye on our daily and monthly reporting to spot trends and flag items of note to the relevant team members
– You will be responsible for providing outputs to share with stakeholders in various meetings over the course of the month/year (e.g. team meetings, management meetings, board meetings)
– You will provide insights to members of the team as well as support and training on how to use the tools we have available
Provide analysis and develop case studies:
– You will be responsible for analysing marketing campaigns and initiatives, building your insights into case studies to use as a benchmark for future projects
– You will monitor the performance of our studio launches and manage the benchmarks that we use to track future launches, ensuring they are kept up to date with the latest and most relevant information
– To be successful it is essential to work cross functionally to help you identify trends that can be used for future decision making
The business has made great progress in this area in the last 6 months and we have a suite of dashboards to support you in this role, however, we also recognise that we have a long way to go. We’re all about continuous improvement and see plenty of untapped potential for the enhancement of our data and reporting capabilities.
