Do I need to book in advance?

Yes please! All class purchases and registrations must be made in advance through our website or app.

 

I’m having trouble booking classes using the app, help!

Please make sure you have signed the waiver by logging into your account on a web browser before trying to book via the app. If thats all done, make sure you’re logged into the right account. If you’re still struggling, give us a shout.

 

What to wear?

We recommend shorts (with nets!) for men, and a t-shirt if you wish. Women should wear gym kit – legging/shorts and vest top. Remember, it does get sweaty.

 

What to bring?

Nothing special, just water and a towel to lay on your mat. No worries though – you can hire one from us if you forget.

 

Do you provide mats?

Yes, mats are provided. You’re welcome to bring your own, but there’s a complimentary one there waiting for you. Just be sure to bring a towel to lay on your mat to keep from slipping.

 

Do you have showers?

Most of our studios have showers, but please contact your location directly to check.

 

Should I eat beforehand?

Try not to eat within an hour before class.

 

I’ve never done hot yoga before, will I be ok?

You will be absolutely fine! Just let the teacher know it’s your first lesson, take the class at your own pace and remember you can take a restorative pose and pause to catch your breath whenever you need to.

 

Can I come to class if I’m unwell?

If you’re feeling physically unwell, we don’t generally recommend coming to class. Firstly, it may well make you feel worse (if you’ve got a cold or flu, for example). Secondly, we don’t want to risk you infecting others.

 

What’s the purpose of the Hotpod?

The Hotpod allows us to create a wonderful hot yoga studio anywhere. It’s an amazing, tranquil environment to practice yoga.

 

How hot does it get?

37ºc.

 

Why hot?

The heat makes the heart and lungs work a little harder – helping you burn more calories, and giving you a great cardio workout. Warmth also increases flexibility – easing joints and muscles and helping prevent injury. Sweating also helps us eliminate toxins, cleansing the body. Finally… well, it’s just nice!

 

Why yoga?

The physical and mental benefits of yoga are innumerable. Aside from providing a challenging workout, helps to balance the body and mind through physical exercises and controlled breathing. Introducing meditative practices helps us release stress and anxiety, promoting clarity of mind, better focus and increased energy and alertness. It’s about an all-round greater sense of well being.

 

What’s the difference between Hotpod Yoga and Bikram?

Bikram is a well-known US-based hot yoga franchise. It is a strict practice, made up of 26 postures, practiced for 90 minutes. Some of our postures are similar to the Bikram sequence, as both forms derive from the same root of yoga. However, our sequences are an hour long (or sometimes 45 minutes), slightly less hot, typically more flowing and are less prescriptive. We allow room for creativity, so that not every class or teacher will be exactly the same. Crucially, Hotpod Yoga is portable – held in our very own Hotpods – unlike anyone else!

 

Is an hour (or 45 minutes) long enough?

We know that not everyone has the luxury of 90 minutes spare for yoga. But we’ll work you hard and get your heart pumping – 45 minute or an hour is plenty of time for a thorough workout and to escape your day-to-day.

 

Can I do Hotpod Yoga while pregnant?

Unfortunately not. The heat makes it quite high exertion and raises the body temperature – both not entirely safe when pregnant. So, we recommend finding a great pregnancy yoga class and then coming to see us after the baby’s born for our ‘Yoga for New Mums’ classes.

 

Can children attend Hotpod Yoga?

No under 16s allowed, unfortunately. We have been known to run occasional kids classes, but not on a regular schedule.

 

Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes. You must cancel your class via the website or app at least 3 hours in advance, or your class pass will not be refunded. Cancellation policies may vary by studio, so please check with your local studio to find out more.

For London studios, if you are on an Unlimited, Complete or Off-Peak Monthly Membership, you will not be penalised for late cancellations, but please do think of our waitlisters – the more ahead of time you cancel, the more likely another waitlist customer will be able to take your spot, and the happier you’ll make someone! However, you could be penalised if you book a class but fail to attend. Members with an Unlimited, Complete or Off-Peak Monthly Membership will be charged £15 if they no-show more than 5 times in one month.

 

Why is my intro offer not working?

Your introductory offer starts on the day of the first class you book. This means that if you have booked and cancelled a class, or tried to book a class before the first one you booked, you might be receiving an error saying that you have no valid class pass. Just email us and we can change the dates for you.

 

I am trying to enter my referral code in to the ‘discount code’ box and it’s not working. Help!

The referral code needs to be added when creating an account, on the same page where you enter your name and email address for the first time. If you’ve missed this step, just email us with the name of the person who referred you and we can add the referral code for you.

 

I would like to refer a friend – how do I do this?

To refer a friend, you can share your unique referral code, which they can enter when creating an account. This will automatically add a Free Taster Class to their account, which they can use to book on to a class. Once they book and attend the class, you will receive a credit on your account. Please note that the credit can take a few days to process.

 

Where do I find my referral code?

Just log in to the app, choose ‘home’ from the dropdown menu and scroll to the bottom to see your referral code. Your friend will need to enter this code when creating an account, on the same screen where they enter their name and email address for the first time  – it cannot be added after the account is created. If you are using the website, choose ‘my account’ from the dropdown menu after logging in.
