    About the studio

Hotpod Yoga Exeter offers hot yoga, but not like you’ve ever experienced it before. Our classes are held in our signature inflatable pods, creating the perfect immersive atmosphere. Heated to a comfortable 37°C and filled with calming scents, soft lighting and curated playlists, the pod is the perfect space to stretch out, switch off and enjoy your yoga practice. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or looking for yoga for beginners, our classes are designed to work for everyone. Expect a down-to-earth, welcoming atmosphere – no pressure, no pretence, just seriously feel-good yoga.

You’ll find us on the 1st floor Unit 1a Water Lane, between Motofix and Lloyds Gym. We’re part of the newly renovated Vulcan Estate just off the bustling quayside area of Exeter. Car parking available in the Haven Banks car parks all within a few minutes walk of the studio.

    What our customers say

    Frequently asked questions

    What time should I arrive?

Please arrive around 10 – 15 mins before the start of your class. The doors are locked when the class starts for security so we’re not able to let anyone in after the class has begun. Try not to arrive more than 15 minutes before the class start time, as there may still be people leaving from a previous class, plus our teachers will be getting the studio and pod ready to welcome you.

If you know you will not be able to make it, please cancel your booking via the website or app so someone else can take your place. If it's within the cancellation period you'll automatically get your pass back.

    What should I bring?

We provide mats (although you are welcome to bring your own). We recommend bringing plenty of water with you and wearing cool clothes as you will get sweaty. Yoga towels are required in all classes, but you can hire one from us if you forget. If you'd like to shower afterwards then bring an extra towel for that, or hire one of those too (please check with your local studio beforehand as facilities may vary slightly).

I’ve never done hot yoga before, will I be ok?

You will be absolutely fine! Just let the teacher know it’s your first lesson, take the class at your own pace and remember you can take a restorative pose and pause to catch your breath whenever you need to. Have a read of our blog on what to expect from your first class to find out more.

If you are pregnant or under 16, then unfortunately you cannot come to our heated classes. If you have a medical condition you are not sure about, then please check with a medical professional beforehand.

I'm having trouble booking classes on the website or app, help!

If you're having problems booking via the website or app, then firstly try signing out and closing everything down (your browser or the app itself). Then try logging in again. If that doesn't sort things out and you’re still struggling, don't despair, contact your studio and they'll be happy to help. If you can, take a screenshot or picture of any error messages you're getting to help us sort this out and get you into your next class as quickly as possible.

I've been referred by someone, how do I get my free class?

If someone has given you their referral code, firstly - lucky you, you're in for a treat. To be able to get your free class added to your account, you will need to attend the same studio as your friend and enter the code when you create your account (in the box that asks 'Do you have a referral code?'). If it's not added then, unfortunately it can't be added later by you - but don't worry, you can contact the studio you are signing up to for help.

Can I cancel my booking and get a refund or get my class credit back?

As long as you cancel before the Cancellation Cutoff (6 hours before the start of the class for this studio) you’ll get the credit added back to your account. If you cancel outside of the Cancellation Cutoff this will result in you losing the credit on the pass you booked with, or incurring a charge (if you are on a Complete or Off-Peak Membership). All passes are non-refundable though.

The only exception to this rule is during the Blackout Period (1am-5am).

    What's a Blackout Period?

We have a Blackout period in our booking system from 1am-5am. This is designed to prevent automatic movements in the system occurring overnight when people are asleep (such as adding people automatically from waitlists into a class when a space frees up).

Time during this period does therefore not apply to Cancellation Cutoff (the 6 hours notice that's necessary to give to cancel a class and have the credit returned). So, if you're wanting to cancel an 8am class, you must cancel it before 10pm the night before (3 hours of the Cancellation Cutoff fall each side of the Blackout Period).

Are there penalties for being late or not showing up to a class?

Yes. If you book a class and then don’t show up on time and check in with the teacher, you’ll lose the credit on that pass. If you’ve booked with a membership that doesn’t have an assigned number of classes in a given period (such as an Off-peak Membership or a Complete Membership) you will be charged £10.

Likewise if you cancel within the Cancellation Cutoff (6 hours before the class starts), you also lose the credit on that pass, or are charged £5 if you’re on membership with no assigned number of classes (such as Off-peak Memberships & Complete Memberships).

Please bear in mind doors will be locked a few minutes before the class starts so that the teacher can always ensure the class starts on time.

    Meet the studio owners

    • Sam and Andy

      Studio owners

Sam and husband Andy discovered Hotpod Yoga whilst briefly living in Norwich and immediately fell in love with the pod. Having enjoyed yoga for several years Sam decided to take this one step further and completed her teacher training in March 2024. As a former community pharmacist, Sam combines this background with yoga to integrate physical wellbeing with mental and emotional balance. Her classes emphasise mindful movement, stress reduction and overall health. Both from Devon originally, Sam and Andy decided to return to their roots and bring Hotpod Yoga with them, opening their own studio in the beautiful city of Exeter. As a helicopter pilot Andy relishes the balance between the high-stress environment of piloting and the calming, centred world of yoga.
