At Hotpod Yoga, we offer part-time 200-hour Teacher Training courses designed to prepare students for the modern yoga world and give them the practical skills, knowledge and confidence to begin their journey as yoga teachers.

All of our 200-hour courses are Yoga Alliance accredited. From day one, you’ll gain practical teaching experience while developing a strong foundation in yoga philosophy and history, Sanskrit, anatomy, breathwork, sequencing, inclusivity, and the skills needed to create meaningful experiences for your students.

Our training combines traditional yoga teachings with modern teaching skills, helping you develop the confidence and understanding to take your first steps as a yoga teacher.

Where and when do the teacher training courses take place?

Our London Teacher Training courses take place at our Teaching Academy in Hackney, East London. Located close to green spaces, cafes and local markets, it’s a great environment to immerse yourself in your training while still having space to recharge between sessions.

Each year we run two London part-time Teacher Training courses, alongside regional trainings in different locations across the UK.

Our part-time courses are delivered through a combination of intensive training weeks and weekend sessions, with training days running from 9am–5.30pm.

Regional training locations and dates vary, so please check our website for the latest course opportunities.

Who leads the courses?

Our Teacher Training courses are led by a dedicated team of experienced Co-Lead Teachers who support students throughout the full six-month journey.

The programme is led by Sunita, Nick, Carla, Charlie, Mandy and Nataliya, who each bring their own experience, knowledge and teaching style to the course. Together, they create a supportive learning environment where students can develop the skills, confidence and understanding needed to begin teaching yoga.

Throughout the course, you’ll also learn from guest teachers and specialists who bring expertise across areas including anatomy and physiology, Sanskrit, breathwork, meditation, Ayurveda and more.

Is the part-time course right for me?

Our 200-hour Teacher Training is designed to fit alongside your existing commitments while giving you the space to fully immerse yourself in the learning journey.

The part-time format allows you to absorb the teachings over six months, with time between training modules to practise teaching, reflect on your learning and build confidence in your own practice.

The course requires dedication and commitment both during training days and in your own time, as you’ll be developing your teaching skills, completing coursework and practising outside of the training environment.

Whether you’re looking to begin teaching yoga professionally or deepen your own practice, this training is designed to give you the knowledge, practical experience and confidence to take your first steps as a yoga teacher.

What type of yoga will I be qualified to teach after the course?

Upon completion of the course, you will be qualified to teach Vinyasa (Flow) yoga.

I am not sure I want to teach, can I still come on the course?

Of course! We have lots of students who just want to further their education rather than go on to teach – although they often change their mind.

How much experience do I need to take part?

This varies greatly depending on your background, but we recommend that you’ve had a regular, committed practice over a period of time. Whilst it is different for everyone, we advise a minimum of 18 months of regular practice. If you have any further questions about this, please feel free to reach out and chat with the team.

I can’t headstand/handstand/crow/do a push up… will I be good enough?

We are not expecting you to come onto the course knowing all of these things… that’s why you’re doing it – to learn! Everyone comes onto the course at different stages of their life and their practice, with different life experiences. Come as you are, with a strong commitment to learning.

I am quite shy, I am not sure I can stand up at the front and teach…

You are not alone. Many of our students find this very challenging to start with. You’ll have plenty of tools to coach you to ‘hold the space’ with confidence by the end of the course.

What makes Hotpod Yoga Teacher Training different from other schools or courses?

At Hotpod Yoga, we believe the best way to learn to teach is through experience. From the beginning of the course, you’ll start developing your teaching skills through practical sessions, giving you the opportunity to practise, receive feedback and build confidence throughout your training. By the end of the course, you’ll have the opportunity to teach a full 60-minute class and receive feedback to support your development as a teacher.

Our training goes beyond learning how to lead a yoga class. Alongside teaching skills, you’ll explore yoga philosophy and history, anatomy and physiology, Sanskrit, breathwork, inclusivity and the wider context of yoga as both a practice and a living tradition.

Throughout the six-month journey, you’ll be supported by a dedicated team of Co-Lead Teachers who provide ongoing guidance, feedback and mentorship. This consistent support allows you to grow as a teacher, develop your confidence and find your own authentic teaching style.

As part of the Hotpod Yoga community, you’ll also have access to Hotpod Home, our online platform with a range of classes to support your own practice and inspire your teaching.

Is attendance required for the course?

Our Teacher Training is an immersive learning journey, and attendance at all scheduled training dates is required. Each module builds on the previous one, with practical teaching, group work and learning developing throughout the six months.

Please check the full course dates before applying to ensure you can commit to attending all training days.

Do you offer bursary places?

Yes, we offer one funded bursary place on each of our 200-hour Teacher Training courses.

Our bursary programme is part of our commitment to making yoga teacher training more accessible and supporting greater diversity and representation within the yoga community. We welcome applications from people who may not otherwise be able to afford the course, and who are committed to using their training to create a positive impact.
